What is Mobile Surgery?

The term “mobile surgery” seems misleading at first. Yes, there are veterinarians who make “house calls” (or “farm calls”) to see patients. There are also veterinarians who have a van or a bus, and they travel to different locations to do examinations, vaccines, some blood tests and other diagnostics, and some minor procedures. These are all examples of “mobile” or “ambulatory” practice. But specialty mobile surgery is a little different.
Due to the complexity of the surgeries that we perform, we still need a well-equipped Operating Room in a stationary building. The “mobile” aspect comes from Dr. Reed bringing his skills and specialized equipment to your family veterinary clinic to do the surgery, rather than you and your pet traveling to a specialty veterinary hospital for the surgery. This model is not new and is not unique to the Milwaukee area – this is becoming more common all over the country.
You must work with your family veterinarian to coordinate the surgery for your pet at your local veterinary hospital.
Our Mission

At Reed Mobile Veterinary Surgery, our mission is to provide high-quality, specialized veterinary surgery services directly to pets throughout our community. We work closely with local General Practice veterinarians to ensure seamless communication and care coordination, streamlining the process for both clients and pets.
Our Approach
By traveling to pets rather than requiring them to travel to us, we’ve created a more comfortable and convenient experience for your furry friends. Our mobile surgery service allows us to provide essential surgical care in the comfort of familiar surroundings, reducing stress and anxiety for pets and their families.
Collaborative Care

We believe that collaboration is key to delivering exceptional patient care. That’s why we partner with your family veterinarian to ensure comprehensive treatment plans and smooth transitions between surgeries and follow-up care. This approach not only benefits our patients but also strengthens the bonds within our veterinary community.
